The United Nations is the intergovernmental international organization it was founded in 1945 after world war second by 51 countries promised to maintain international peace and security and developing friendly relation in the world.

The United Nations is an intergovernmental organization, it was established after the 2nd world war. 

On 25 April 1945, 50 governments made a charter in San Francisco and then they drafted the UN charter.
On 26 June 1945  signed by 51 countries on the UN charter in the Herbst Theatre auditorium in the veterans war memorial building.
On 24th October 1945, the UN Charter came into the force.
at that time The UN had 51 founding members States now there are 193 members and two observer States member
Its main objective is to maintain international peace and security developing and friendly relations, among the nations, protecting human rights and helping poor countries for the development of their country and now it is the most powerful intergovernmental organization.

SIX PRINCIPAL ORGANS OF THE UNITED NATIONS



There are six principal organs in the United Nations and every organ has different responsibilities and further Organs has subsidiary organization and commission, committee, etc



  1. General Assembly
  2. Secretariat
  3. International Court and Justice
  4. Security Council
  5. Economic and social council
  6. Trusteeship Council

 1. GENERAL ASSEMBLY    



General Assembly, the main deliberative policymaking
 an organ of  theUN, it  has 193 members, HQ- New York

The general assembly is one the principal organ of the United Nations, there is equal representation of the United Nations, that means equal to UN members. all UN members are general Assembly members. General Assembly president is elected for one year and general assembly take the final decision in the matter of budgetary there is a binding no one can take an action about this budgetary this is the final decision of the UN General Assembly every member has to accept the final decision  of the general assembly and other case are non-binding

OBJECTIVE AND RESPONSIBILITIES;


  • to make the main deliberative policy
  • to appoint the non-permanent member to the security council of the UN
  • to appoint the secretary-general of the United Nations on recommendations of the security council and adopts rules governing the administration of the secretariat  
  • to receive reports from other parts of the UN and make a recommendation in the form of General Assembly  Resolutions
  • to approve the budget of the United Nations and decide how much money has to give by each member state to run the organization 
  • to elect members of UNESC, UNIDO
  • to elects judge for the international court of justice
  • to decide the admission  of a new member by recommendation of UNSC

SECURITY COUNCIL

member with the veto power

The security council is the organ of the United Nation it gives a recommendation to the general assembly to elect the secretariat general for the United Nations
The security council is under the chair of the 1 president
this is very important things have to remember UN SC is called policeman of the world It is very important terms very important very strong organs of the UNO it has five veto power permanent members and 10 non-permanent members
There are five permanent members they have given the veto power from the UNO in the security council there are following members

United States
United Kingdom
Rusia
China
French

10 non-permanent members elected for only two years. and  they have not to veto power they have  only voting power


UN SECRETARIATE

UN  Secretariat



United Nations Secretariat is under the chair of the secretary-general and he is called the chief administrative officer of the United secretariat and he is also called de facto spokesperson of the United Nations
United Nation Secretariat is administration organisation handles all administrative work it has one Secretary-general he is elected for five years and there is no foundation to take up position only for one term or two terms after 5 years we can elect again to the same person
The secretary-general is not part of the five permanent members


INTERNATIONAL COURT OF JUSTICE



Its short form is ICJ
It is established in 1945
Its headquarter is at Hague in the Netherlands
There are a total of 15 judges in the International Court of Justice
The term of a judge is for 9 years that means it is selected for 9 years 
It has also one President and one vice president they are elected for three years it deals in crimes and some issue between two countries that the matter would be handled by the ICJ international on Court of Justice
 for example India versus Pakistan kulbhushan matter




ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COUNCIL



The economic and social council is the organ of the United Nations it has 54 members every member is elected for 3 years it has also one president he is elected for 1 year this is the only organisation every year have a meeting with the international monetary fund and World Bank
  

TRUSTEESHIP COUNCIL



Trusteeship Council is the organ of the United Nations after 1994 United Nation has suspended through the trusteeship council for that its work was to administrative and handle self-government IV dose colonygym
